How To >
We have created Arrette Sketch, a free app, to help new customers become accustomed to our unique way of presenting free hand drawing tools that preserve scale information. Our tool is more sophisticated than other free hand drawing programs, allowing users to import existing designs and plans, adding layers, and iterating design ideas, all while preserving a true scale.
Our app is easier to use than traditional structured drawing programs but lack some of the features found in other tools. We think this makes the task of rapidly iterating and sharing designs with others much faster. The ease of use in our program and lack of clutter also makes our software more accessible to a wider audience.
We invite all users to try Arrette Sketch to see this for themselves. For users who are ready to use our tools in a work environment, Arrette Scale offers additional drawing and sharing tools needed to do professional work.
Importing images to review or draw on top of is a key function of Arrette. Please refer to the full tutorial of how to Create a Base Image.
We currently do not have immediate plans for an Android version of Arrette. Arrette is very sensitive to the screen sizes and resolutions of the devices we support. It is necessary to continually update the software with each new screen size that Apple produces.
Android devices vary widely between screen sizes and screen resolutions, making it difficult to test and maintain the app's ability to scale drawings. However, as demand grows for Arrette, and we hear from new customers, we are open to investing in development for specific Android devices.
If you have an Android device and would like to see Arrette supported, please voice your opinion here on our User Voice site!
Arrette Scale is available for download in the iTunes App Store and retails for $8.99 USD.
Sometimes, it may be a good idea for you to back up your Arrette projects to your computer or to a cloud storage service. There are three ways of doing this:
For assistance on using the Share Menu features in Arrette, simply launch the Arrette app on your iPad and click on the Help button, a question mark in the bottom of the menu bar.
To use iTunes to copy your files to a computer, please refer to these guides from the Apple support web site:
