Take Work Home

We at Arrette are great believers in work-life balance, though we rarely achieve it. If you need to leave the office but want to take your current design with you, you can do it with Arrette.

A Physical Sketch

To quickly capture your latest drawing from your desk, drawing board, or pinup, all you need to do is take a photo and put it into Arrette as a Base image.

  1. Just take a digital photo of the drawing with your iPad, phone or camera. Be sure to include something of a known length or a scale bar to use later to put the image at scale.
  2. Go on your way. When you're ready to work, just create a new drawing in Arrette and make a Base image from the photo.

A Computer Drawing

If you're working on a computer drawing and you will want to sketch on it later, send yourself an image which you can incorporate as a base image.

  1. First, export a JPEG or PNG image file from your computer drawing. Then either email it to yourself or put it on Dropbox or Adobe Creative Cloud. Be sure to include something of a known length or a scale bar to use later to put the image at scale.
  2. Either at the office or later, make a Base image from the file and start work.

When You're Back at the Office

To get work back to your computer or for physical sketching, send it to yourself as an image or PDF using the Share menu. You can then either print it our or bring it into your computer program for work when you're back at the office again.
